Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

My current setup and things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a list of all of my favorite stuff.

Workstation

  • 15” Razer Blade, 16GB RAM (2020)

I was using an Intel-based 15” Razer Blade since 2020 and it is my go to machine. I love the keyboard, the trackpad, and the screen. I’ve been using it for a while now and I’m still not tired of it.

  • Xiaomi Mi 34” Ultrawide Monitor

I’ve been using this monitor for a while now and I love it. It’s great for multitasking and I love the extra screen real estate. I’m not sure how I ever lived without it.

  • Xiaomi silent mouse

I’ve gotten used to the silent mouse and I love it. I can work in a quiet environment without bothering anyone around me. I love the ergonomics of it and the fact that I can use it for hours without getting tired. I also love the fact that it’s wireless and I can use it from anywhere in the room.

  • Audio Technica ATH-M50x-BT

I’ve used these headphone for 5 years now and I love them. They are great for listening to music and I love the fact that they are wireless. The build quality is great and I love the fact that they are foldable. I also love the fact that you can use 3.5mm jack to connect them to your computer or phone. The sound quality is amazing.

Development tools

  • VS Code

Ever since I started coding I’ve been using VS Code. I love the fact that it’s free and open source. I love the fact that it’s cross platform and I can use it on any operating system. I love the number of extensions available for it and the fact that I can customize it to my liking.

  • WebStorm

My second go to IDE. When I’m not useing VS Code, I’m using WebStorm. I’ve started using it when it became available for free for students.

  • Postman

Great software for working with APIs. Whenever I need to test an API I’m working on, I use Postman for testing purposes.

Design

  • Figma

We started using Figma as just a design tool but now it’s become our virtual whiteboard for the entire company. Never would have expected the collaboration features to be the real hook.

Productivity

  • Spotify

World without music is a world without joy. Music is my stress relief and my motivation. I love listening to music while I live.
